NEBBIOLO EPIGENOMICS 2014: epigenetic modifications in grapevine caused by genotype/environment interactions

Starting point of this project is the genome sequencing of three grapevine ‘Nebbiolo’ clones (project “Nebbiolo Genomics”) as well as the genetic and epigenetic analyses performed on the same clones (project “Nebbiolo Epigenomics 2012”). In the previous studies the genetic characterization of the cultivar was integrated with agronomic data collected from three experimental vineyards. In the present project the experimental plan will be accomplish and broaden, and more information will be obtained from the study of epigenetic changes induced by interactions between the genotype (clone) and the environment (soil, climate, etc.). The project will be carried out in collaboration with the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (DISA) – Udine University and with the Vignaioli Piemontesi.
